Switch where your tap link points, live

Your tap chips and QR code all point at one link. You decide where that link goes, and you can change the destination in real time, so the same sticker can open your welcome page one week and a special event the next.

Before you begin

  • You need permission to manage Tap & Scan (an admin, or someone who has been given the Tap & Scan area).
  • You need at least one destination to point at. Your Church page and check-in are built in, so you can always switch to those.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Tap & Scan. Open it from the dashboard menu. You will see a Live now card at the top showing where your link currently points, marked with a small pulsing green dot.
  2. Find the Tap to make live list. This is the list of every destination you can switch between: Church page, Check people in, and any links you have added.
  3. Click the row you want. The tap link switches to that destination right away. The active row shows a green Live badge and a filled selection dot, and the Live now card updates to match.
  4. Choose Church page to reset. Click the Church page row to send taps back to your public home base. This is a good resting state between events.

Add a new destination

  1. Click Add link. The button sits in the top-right of the Tap to make live list.
  2. Pick a destination. Search the list for one of your events, a page or form, or your Give giving link, then click it.
  3. Or add a custom link. Click Add a custom link, give it a Name, paste the web address (starting with https://), and click Add link. Use this for anything outside Churchday, like a sermon-notes doc or an outside sign-up.

The new destination appears in the list, ready to make live whenever you want.

  1. Open the row menu. On any link you added, click the ⋯ (three-dot) button at the end of the row.
  2. Click Rename to change the label people never see, but that helps you tell your links apart.
  3. Click Remove to take a link off the list. A confirmation window reminds you this does not delete the event, form, or page it points to, only the shortcut in this list.

Good to know

  • Changes take effect on the very next tap. Nothing is cached, so you can flip the destination in the middle of a service and the next person who taps lands in the new place.
  • The ⋯ menu only appears on links you add. The built-in Church page and Check people in rows cannot be renamed or removed.
  • Giving and outside web links are forwarded exactly as you saved them. Links to your own Churchday events and pages get a light tap tag added so those taps also show up in your page analytics.
