Manage your personal account and profile
Your personal account is separate from your church's Settings. It holds your own name, contact details, public page, family, and sign-in security. This travels with you across every church you belong to.
Before you begin
- You can be signed in with any role. This is your own account, not your church's settings.
- Account settings are turned off while you are exploring the shared demo.
Open your account settings
- Click your profile picture in the sidebar (or in the top corner of a public page) to open the account menu.
- Choose Account settings. This opens your personal account. On a phone, you can also tap the Account settings card at the top of your church's Settings screen.
Your account opens with five tabs: Profile, Public profile, Family, Notifications, and Security.
The Profile tab
The top card holds your Profile picture, Name, Email, Phone, Birthday, and Public profile URL (your username). Click the pencil next to any row to edit it. Changing your email sends a verification link to the new address, and your sign-in email only switches after you click that link.
Below that, the optional Personal info section stores your Address, Gender, Marital status, Wedding anniversary (shown once you pick "Married"), and Allergies. Fill in what you like and click Save. Churchday pre-fills these on churches you join so you don't retype them each time.
The Public profile tab
This controls what shows on your public page at churchday.co/u/your-username.
- Bio and Location appear at the top. Click the pencil to edit either.
- Social links show as an icon row. Click the pencil to add your handles and drag to reorder them.
- Who can see this lets you set each section to Public, Members, or Private. "Members" means anyone signed in who shares at least one church with you.
To turn the public page on, set a username in the Public profile URL row on the Profile tab.
The Family tab
Your family follows you to every church, so you're grouped together at check-in and can share event registrations.
- Click Add family member.
- Pick the relationship (spouse, child, and so on).
- For an adult, enter their email and Churchday sends an invite to link accounts. For a child, choose I'll manage their profile to add their name, birthday, and gender yourself, or invite them if they already have an account.
You can Revoke a pending invite, or edit and unlink a linked family member at any time.
The Notifications tab
Choose which personal emails you receive:
- New registration tells you when someone registers for your events.
- Weekly digest sends a summary of your events and registrations.
If your church has text messaging turned on and you've added a phone number, a Text message reminders switch also appears here.
The Security tab
- Active sessions lists every device signed in to your account, with its last-active time. Click Revoke to sign out one device, or Sign out of all other sessions to clear the rest.
- Log out signs you out on this device.
- Download my data saves a file with the personal data Churchday holds about you.
- Delete my account starts a 30-day countdown. Type "DELETE" to confirm. Sign back in within that window to restore everything, or it is permanently removed after 30 days.
Good to know
- To change your sign-in email, use the Email row on the Profile tab, not the Security tab.
- Your church's own settings (name, branding, billing) live in a separate Settings area for admins.
