Editing your profile and contact details
Your Churchday profile holds your photo, name, and contact details. Keeping it current means the churches you join already have the right information, and your event reminders reach the right place.
Before you begin
- You need to be signed in to your Churchday account.
- These details belong to you, not to any one church. When you update them here, they update everywhere you go.
Open your profile settings
- Open the avatar menu. Click your photo or initials in the top-right corner and choose Account settings. You can also go straight to the /settings page.
- Stay on the Profile tab. It is the first tab and opens by default.
Edit each detail
Each detail sits in its own row on the Profile tab. Edit whichever ones you like, in any order.
- Profile picture. Click your photo (it has a small camera badge in the corner). In the pop-up window, choose Upload photo, adjust the crop, and click Save. To go back to just your initials, choose Remove photo.
- Name. Click the pencil next to your name to open Edit name. Fill in First name and Last name, then click Save.
- Email. Click the pencil next to your email, type the new address, and click Save. Churchday sends a verification link to the new address, and your sign-in email only switches after you click that link.
- Phone. Click the pencil next to Phone, enter a US phone number, and click Save. US numbers only. This number is used for event reminders if you opt in. To remove it, leave the field blank and save.
- Birthday. Click the pencil next to Birthday, type the date, and click Save.
- Public profile URL. Click the pencil next to Public profile URL to set your @username. This becomes your public link at churchday.co/u/yourname. Use letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores, up to 30 characters (it is saved in lowercase). Click Save when you are done.
Fill in your personal info
Below the profile card is the Personal info card. This is optional, and it holds your address, city, state, ZIP, gender, marital status, wedding anniversary, and any allergies. (The wedding anniversary field appears once you set your status to Married.)
Fill in whatever you like and click Save. Churchday pre-fills these details for you on any church you join later, so you do not have to type them every time.
Good to know
- Your photo, name, and contact details are part of your personal profile. They travel with you to every church you join, not just one.
- Changing your email does not take effect until you click the verification link sent to the new address. Until then, keep signing in with your current email.
- Changing your Public profile URL breaks any old links you already shared, because the old @username link stops working once you save the new one.
- The public profile link is optional. If you never set a username, you simply will not have a public @username page.
