Setting up your public profile and social links

Your public profile is your own page on Churchday, at churchday.co/u/yourusername. This is where you can share a short bio, where you live, and links to your social accounts. You control what appears and who can see each part.

Before you begin

  • This is your personal profile, so you do not need any admin role.
  • You need a username first. Set one on the Profile tab. Until you do, your public page stays off and a reminder banner appears on the Public profile tab.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to the Settings page. Open /settings (your account settings).
  2. Open the Public profile tab. If you see a banner that says to set a username in the Profile tab, follow it first. Once your username is set, the banner is replaced by a link to your public page with a Preview button.
  3. Add your bio. Under About you, click the pencil next to Bio. Write a short intro, up to 500 characters (a counter shows how much you have left), then click Save.
  4. Add your location. Click the pencil next to Location, start typing a city, and pick it from the list (locations come from Google Places). Click Save.
  5. Add your social links. In the Social links section, click the pencil. Under Add a platform, choose from Website, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X (Twitter), TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  6. Enter your handle. For each link, you can type just your handle and Churchday builds the full address for you. For example, entering "yourname" for LinkedIn becomes linkedin.com/in/yourname. A full web address works too if you prefer to paste one.
  7. Drag to reorder. Use the grip handle on the left of each link to drag it up or down. This sets the order the icons appear on your public page. Click Save when you are done.
  8. Choose who can see each part. In Who can see this, set each section to Public, Members, or Private. Members means anyone signed in who shares at least one church with you. These choices save the moment you make them.

Good to know

  • Everything starts as Public by default. Change any section only when you want to limit it.
  • The visibility choices cover more than social links: your bio, location, churches, upcoming events, past events, and hosting each have their own setting.
  • To check how your page looks to visitors, use the Preview link at the top of the tab. It opens your public page in a new window.
  • Leaving a field blank simply hides it. You can clear your bio, remove a social link, or reset your location at any time.
