Managing your family
Your family in Churchday is the group of people you're connected to: your spouse or partner, and your children. You set it up once on your own account, and it follows you everywhere.
Before you begin
- This lives on your personal account, so you don't need any church role.
- You only need to be signed in.
Where to find it
Your family lives on the Family tab in Settings. Go to Settings, then open the Family tab. If you follow an older link like /family or /household, Churchday brings you straight here.
Your family travels with you to every church you join. Churchday uses it to:
- Group you together for check-in at services
- Share event registrations across your family
- Remind your churches about birthdays and anniversaries
Add a family member
- Open the Family tab. In Settings, select Family.
- Click Add family member. This is the row with the plus sign at the bottom of your family list.
- Choose a Relationship. Pick from the list (Spouse, Partner, Child, Parent, Sibling, and more), or choose Other (custom) and type your own, like "Cousin."
- Add their details, then finish. Click Send invite or Add child depending on the choices below.
Adding an adult
For a spouse, partner, parent, or any adult, Churchday links accounts by email. Enter their Email address and click Send invite. They receive an email asking to link their account to yours. Until they accept, their row shows "Pending confirm."
Adding a child
When you pick a child relationship (Child, Step-child, or Grandchild), you choose how to add them:
- I'll manage their profile. Best for younger kids without an email account. Enter their Full name, and optionally a Birthday and Gender, then click Add child. You keep this profile up to date yourself.
- They have their own Churchday account. Enter their email and Churchday sends them an invite to link with you, the same way you'd add an adult.
Invitations
- Invitations sent to you appear under Pending for you at the top of the Family tab. Click one to open a confirmation page where you accept or decline.
- Invitations you sent show up in your list marked "Invite sent." To take one back, click Revoke. The link stops working, and you can invite again later.
Editing or removing someone
- A linked adult: click the pencil icon on their row. Once they've accepted, you'll see the churches you both belong to under Shared churches, so you know where you're grouped together for check-in. To disconnect them, click Unlink.
- A child you manage: click the pencil icon to update their name, birthday, or gender, then click Save. To take them off your family entirely, click Remove. This deletes the profile you created and removes them from your family at every church.
Good to know
- A managed child profile is one you fully control. A linked account belongs to the other person, so you can update the connection but not their name or details, only unlink them.
- Churches don't see your whole family history. They only see your family where you and your relative both attend.
