Edit your church's general settings

Your general settings hold the basics the rest of Churchday leans on: your logo, church name, public link, and time zone. You update each one on its own, right where it sits, so there's no single big form to fill out.

Before you begin

  • You need admin access to your church's settings.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Settings > General. From the dashboard, open Settings. It opens on the General tab by default. If you land on another Settings tab, click General at the top.
  2. Add or change your logo. Next to Logo, click the upload circle and choose a square image that's at least 200x200 pixels. It uploads the moment you pick the file, so there's no separate save step. Your logo shows up on your public page and in the emails you send.
  3. Edit your church name. Click the pencil next to Church name to open the Edit church name window. Type the name and click Save. This name appears in your emails, on event pages, and on invoices, so double-check the spelling before you save.
  4. Change your public link. Click the pencil next to Public URL. Your link shows as churchday.co/yourchurch. In the Change public URL window, type your new address using only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, then click Save. Existing links to your old address keep redirecting for 90 days, then stop working.
  5. Set your time zone. Click the pencil next to Timezone to open the search picker. Start typing a city, region, or time offset, or pick the Suggested for you row that matches the device you're on. Your choice saves the instant you tap it, so there's no save button here.

Good to know

  • There is no "Save Changes" button on this page. Every field saves on its own, either the instant you pick it (logo and time zone) or when you press Save in its pop-up window (church name and public link).
  • You can also add your mailing address here. Click the pencil next to Location to set your city, street address, and ZIP or postal code. Churchday puts this address in the footer of the emails you send.
  • Your time zone controls when event times display and when scheduled emails go out, so keep it accurate if your church moves or you first set things up from somewhere else.
  • Changing your public link only affects the churchday.co address. If you've connected your own web address, that one stays the same.
