Reorder teams and roles on the schedule
The volunteer schedule lists each team as a band, with its roles stacked underneath. You can control the order those teams and roles appear in by dragging them into the arrangement that makes the most sense for your church.
Before you begin
- You need permission to manage the volunteer schedule.
- You need at least two teams on the schedule, or one team with more than two roles. If there's nothing to rearrange, the Reorder option stays hidden.
Step-by-step
- Open the volunteer schedule. This is the grid where your teams and roles are listed down the left side.
- Find the team you want to work with. Hover over that team's row (on a phone, its menu button is always visible) and click the "..." button on the right. It's labeled Team options.
- Choose Reorder. A pop-up window titled Reorder teams and roles opens. It reads "Drag to rearrange. Changes save automatically."
- Drag a team into place. Each team band has a grip handle (the small dotted handle on the left). Press and drag a team's handle up or down to move the whole band, then let go where you want it.
- Drag a role into place. Roles sit inside their team's band, each with its own grip handle. Drag a role's handle up or down to reorder it within that team.
- Click Done. When the arrangement looks right, click Done to close the window.
Good to know
- Changes save the moment you drop. You don't need to click a save button. Each time you release a team or role, the new order is stored right away.
- Done waits for the last save. If you click Done while a change is still saving, the button shows a spinner and holds the window open until the save finishes, so you land back on the schedule with the new order already in place.
- Roles stay with their team. You can reorder roles within a team, but you can't drag a role from one team into another. To move a role to a different team, set it up under that team instead.
- On a phone, press and hold. Touch drags need a brief press-and-hold on the grip handle before they start, so a normal scroll won't accidentally move a team.
- The order applies everywhere. Your new arrangement shows up on the main schedule and on each event's own schedule view, so volunteers and staff see the same consistent order across the church.
