Text Messaging (Coming Soon)
Texting your church by SMS is on the way. It isn't available to send yet, we're finishing the carrier registration that lets churches send text messages responsibly. This page explains what to expect so you can prepare.
What you'll be able to do
When texting goes live, you'll be able to:
- Send a text to your church from the Text area of your dashboard, with a live preview of how the message will look.
- Send volunteer reminders by text, so people scheduled to serve can reply YES to confirm or NO to decline.
How opt-in will work
Texting only reaches people who have clearly agreed to receive texts. That protects your church and keeps you on the right side of the phone carriers.
- People opt in themselves, for example, by checking a box when they subscribe or RSVP, or by turning on text reminders in their account.
- Every text includes a way to opt out (reply STOP), and opt-outs are always honored.
- Messages lead with the Churchday name for carrier compliance, followed by your church's message.
Good to know
- You don't need to do anything yet. When texting is ready, it will appear in your dashboard.
- Email is fully available today. For announcements and reminders right now, use email campaigns.
