Export your church's data
Churchday keeps your data yours. From the Export tab you can download a copy of everyone in your directory, a summary of your email campaigns, or your own personal records, all as files that open in any spreadsheet program.
Before you begin
- You need admin access to your church's settings.
Step-by-step
- Go to Settings > Export. From the dashboard, open Settings, then click the Export tab. You'll land on the Export data section, which lists three download options.
- Pick the export you need. Each option describes what it includes: All people, Email campaigns, or My personal data.
- Click the download button. For All people and Email campaigns, click Download CSV. For My personal data, click Download ZIP. The button shows a loading spinner while Churchday gathers the data, and you'll see a "Download started" message when it's ready.
- Find the file on your device. The file saves to your downloads with a name that includes your church's name and today's date, like
your-church-people-2026-07-14.csv. Open it in a spreadsheet program such as Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets.
What each export includes
- All people (Download CSV). Everyone in your directory as a spreadsheet file (CSV). Each row holds a person's name, contact info, tags, groups, teams, and their attendance stats, including how many events they've attended and the date of the most recent one.
- Email campaigns (Download CSV). A summary of every email campaign you've sent, one row per campaign. It includes each campaign's subject, send counts, open rates, and click rates, so you can review your email performance in one place.
- My personal data (Download ZIP). Your own records, bundled into a ZIP file that holds three separate spreadsheets: your profile, your event history, and the emails you've received. This is the export that meets GDPR and CCPA data portability requirements, so it's the one to use if you personally need a copy of your data.
Good to know
- Every filename is datestamped, so you can run the same export on different days and keep the versions straight without renaming anything.
- This page is for whole-church summaries. Per-event attendee lists live on each event's page, and per-campaign recipient lists live on each campaign's page, not here. Open the event or the campaign directly when you want the list of exactly who attended or who received a specific email.
- The My personal data ZIP contains three files named
my-profile.csv,my-event-history.csv, andmy-emails-received.csv. Unzip the folder to open each one. - Exports are a snapshot of the moment you download them. If you add people or send more emails afterward, run the export again to get the latest copy.
