Event Categories Explained
Categories help you organize your events and make it easy for attendees to understand what type of gathering they are signing up for.
Available categories
When you create or edit an event, you can assign one of these categories:
| Category | Best for |
|---|---|
| Service | Sunday services, midweek services |
| Bible Study | Small groups, book studies |
| Prayer | Prayer meetings, prayer walks |
| Worship Night | Worship-focused gatherings |
| Outreach & Service | Community service, missions, volunteering |
| Conference | Multi-day conferences, retreats |
| Special Event | Holiday celebrations, baptisms, dedications |
| Fellowship | Social events, potlucks, game nights |
| Youth & Kids | Youth group, children's ministry events |
| Other | Anything that does not fit the above |
How categories appear
- On event cards in your dashboard, the category shows as a small colored label.
- On public event pages, the category badge appears above the event title so visitors know what to expect.
Good to know
- Categories are optional. You can leave an event uncategorized if none of the options fit.
- Categories are built into Churchday — you cannot add custom ones at this time.
