What Is the Audience Builder?

The audience builder helps you find specific groups of people in your directory by combining filters. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of names, you describe who you are looking for and Churchday finds them.

When you would use it

• Sending an email to all women in the Young Adults group.
• Finding everyone who registered for a specific event.
• Targeting visitors who joined in the last 30 days.
• Identifying members in a specific city or zip code.

Where you will find it

The audience builder appears in two places:

1. People page — Click the Filters button above your member list to filter who you see.
2. Email campaigns — When choosing who receives your email, the audience builder lets you target the right people.

How it works at a high level

1. You add one or more filter conditions (like "Group is Young Adults" and "Gender is Female").
2. Filters within a group are combined with AND logic — all conditions must be true.
3. You can add multiple groups connected with OR logic — a person matches if they fit any group.
4. Churchday shows a real-time count of how many people match your filters.

• The audience builder updates its count as you add or change filters — you see the results immediately.
• You can save any set of filters as a "saved audience" to reuse later.
• The builder supports over a dozen filter types, from tags and status to age and location.
